Humility
Humility might be called the greatest of all virtues. It may also be the most rare. Freedom from pride or arrogance, being meek, and an absence of self-promotion. To be meek is to be ‘under the hand.’ Like a strong wild stallion that has been trained and reigned in under the hand of a good owner. We are not weak, but powerfully directed. Credit for success goes to the owner, not the stallion.
Scripture says with humility comes wisdom Proverbs 11:2, and humility comes before honor 15:33. Humility is reverence for the Lord, not self-promotion. With humility we are to value others more than ourselves Philippians 2:3. Now there’s a counter-cultural idea.
How do we learn humility. Simply, we imitate Jesus.
